Here is an update from Justin's sister and she sent this out last 
night, Friday February 11, 2022.

 Just a little update for our family and friends. Going on day 11 at 
the hospital. While he is no  longer requiring intubation, and can 
breathe on his own, yesterdays swallowing study didn't go so  well…
.
Basically, his scoliosis causes aspiration in trace amounts almost 
every time he swallows.
.
They placed another feeding tube last night. Justin was very upset, 
said he didn't want it, he was  done and just wanted it out.
.
He just wants to come home. This will be his last night here. We want a 
better quality of life with  what time he has left. We just placed him 
with "Hospice of the Valley". They will transport him  home tomorrow.
.
They wanted to insert a picc line & a peg feeding tube surgically into 
his stomach today, & we said  no. Enough is enough... he was starving, 
so we've already given him a little bit of food.
.
He's much happier without the feeding tube. Of course, our hope is that 
being in his own home and  being comfortable will improve his mentation 
and overall status. We're going to feed him what he  wants, while 
trying to maintain foods that are less likely to cause choking.
