The CSUN Assistive Technology Conference is the premiere event in our field. This year it’s going virtual and we’ll be there. It’s time for the monthly Explorer call. This week we introduce The Aira Active zone and take a look at blind people of color with The Blind History Lady. 

Join Aira at the 36th CSUN Assistive Technology Conference March 9-13. 

The term “CSUN” is as synonymous with March as college basketball. It represents the pre-eminent conference for the assistive technology industry. In 2021, CSUN goes virtual and Aira will be there. 

We will be in the main exhibit hall with information about visual interpreting for education, employment and access partners. Be sure to stop in. Meet our agents, staff and special guests.

February Explorer Call

Introducing the Aira Active Zone! 

Our monthly Explorer Calls are the place to hear about new and exciting things happening at Aira. This month we introduce a new feature before our main call. CEO Troy Otillio will update us on how 2021 is shaping up and we’ll also talk about the difference between objective information and asking for an opinion. 

The Aira Active Zone will be a monthly short program about how to get more from the service and keep your plan, well, active. It will take place 30 minutes prior to each primary monthly Explorer Call. We’ll take a topic each month and, featuring our Active Coaches, we’ll explore how you can use those extra minutes. Each month the Active coaches will give people a challenge to use their minutes. The following month we’ll hear from people who have taken up that challenge. 

February: Kitchen gadgets and countertop appliances 

Did you get an Instant Pot or air fryer for the holidays and still haven’t taken it out of the box because you’re just not sure where to start? Let’s talk about it. One of our agents will join the Aira Coaches to describe the appliances and where to get recipes. Then they’ll give you a challenge for next month.
