San Jose Chapter Organizing Party!

 

Are you blind or visually impaired?

Do you live in the San Jose area?

If so, come join the FUN!

 

Who? The National Federation of the Blind of California 

What? An organizing party to create a local San Jose chapter

When? Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM

Where? King Library, 150 E. San Fernando St., Mezzanine level

Why?          To meet other blind people like you

 

Come join our new chapter and learn about:

*       Scholarship opportunities for visually impaired high school and
college students

*       Cool new ways for blind students to participate in science, math
and engineering 

*       How to access technology, including computers and cell phones  

*       Resources for seniors experiencing vision loss

*       Networking opportunities for blind professionals

*       Local resources for blind people in the Bay Area

*       Ways to meet other parents of blind children

 

What is the National Federation of the Blind (NFB)?

*       The NFB is the largest organization of blind people in the
nation and tackles many of the issues that concern blind people on a
daily basis. 

The NFB passionately believes that it is respectable to be blind and
that any blind person can live happily along side their sighted
community members.
