Subject: UCSF Survey on the Telecommunications Needs of Californians with
Disabilities

Nicolas,

My name is Mel Neri and I work at the University of California, San
Francisco. We're collaborating with the California Public Utilities
Commission on a project looking at the telecommunications needs and
preferences of Californians with disabilities. I was hoping that your NFB
Chapter might be able to help us recruit blind adults (ages 18 and over) to
take part in a phone interview. We’re interviewing Californians with
various disabilities who use devices, technologies, or services (including,
but not limited to cell phones, email, and other wireless devices) that help
them to communicate with others. Any interested individuals would be
screened first and if eligible, receive a $35 gift card to either Starbucks
or Safeway/Vons Supermarkets for participating.

Could you help us out and please distribute the attached recruitment flyer
to any individuals who might be interested?

If you have any recruitment-related questions, they can be directed to Alice
Wong at 415-502-7097 or at alice.wong2 at ucsf.edu, or feel free to contact me
if you have any questions as well.

Thanks so much for your time and consideration!!

Mel
