[Nfbc-info] FW: CCLVI Scholarship Announcement

Hi Brian, nevertheless, this was a major discussion on the list a while
back.
If people want to take ACB scholarships that's fine I do remember a day when
this was not an nfb practice but many said eventually NFB and ACB will merge
anyway. Perhaps that's true maybe not.
I guess I was blown away that a state officer passed us the
reccommendation, not a nicholas thing I would have reacted the same if it
were Mary Robert or anyone else on the board.
but I've been away a while and might be out of line for even noticing.

And, as you can see, obviously I gave the scholarship serious consideration
because I need the funding,
Grad students in the distance education programfor rehabilitation counselors
have very limited resources when it comes to student loans grants etc. Our
tuition can be covered by the Department of education but that doesn't cover
living expenses if one has to move to a more expensive place, computer
purchases, clothes you need for interning, money to attend conferences and
conventions, transportation, etc etc.
Yes VR should cover lots of this stuff but it doesn't always work out that
way. If your in the field perhaps VR is able to do things more quickly.
So I'm not putting anyone down because I did seriously consider applying
even when in fact I've told others they shouldn't guess I'm so close to my
masters the fear of not getting the necessary internships etc is taking it's
toll.

but of course I didn't have to really make a decision they did it for me
because I'm a "total"
How do you like that for sour grapes! lol.
One unrelated question probably should ask privately but my computer just
got back from hp and your email was erased.
On the list it was anounced that the resolution has all ready been submitted
to Rehab. Do we still want a place on their agenda to discuss it?
thanks
Mike
