Hi Everyone,
John and I enjoyed the convention very much, and it was nice to see a lot of new people at convention. We greatly missed many long time Federationists who have passed on or were unable to make this year's convention. A highlight for us was attending the tallent show and the thrill of seeing so many talented people in our organization. We received as a door prize a cd created by the performing arts division of the NFB. From opera to pop we have some really gifted people in the NFB. There really was something for everyone at this year's convention.
We are so happy to see all of the programs for children and young adults. We wished when we were growing up we would have had some of these opportunities and we are so glad that they do.
We always like to attend the resolution committee meeting and hear the presidential report.
Best
Deanna Bates

Hello Fellow Federationists:
I am writing to tell anyone who missed the convention in Detroit what a
wonderful experience it was. The hotel was bursting at the seams. Detroit
has done a fabulous job of restoring the Renaissance Center. The river walk
area was a safe and beautiful place to gather with friends. Everything the
California delegation planned to accomplish went off without a hitch.
Please go to the NFB website to listen to the general sessions. Especially
the recorded version of the shuttle launch which took the Louis Braille coin
into space. That was really awesome.
I invite and encourage anyone who was there to write up impressions and
memorable moments for the journal. First timers and parents will really
round out the report.
Of course, CONGRATULATIONS to our 3 scholarship winners. They each received
an unbelievable bonus along with the scholarship. Each one was given a
personal check for $1,000.00 from Dr. Ray Kurzweil, K 1000 OCR software,
and a KNFB mobile phone fully loaded.
I trust everyone got home safe and sound. Write back with your additions.

Hi Everyone,
Oh goodness, convention was so much fun even though my allergies acted up something fierce, and I lost my voice. LOL!
Working with the kids was great. It was so cool to see 3-year-old kids walking around with canes.
I was invited to attend the first meeting of the NFB Native American Alliance during our convention. It was amazing!!! The first half of the meeting was in Navajo, and the other half of the meeting was spoken in Lakota.
Thank you to all who showed up to work the table on time. It was depply appreciated.
Thank you everyone for being so kind to Susan at her first national convention.
Congratulations to all the scholarship winners!!!!
It was also nice to meet Mary's sister. I hope she enjoyed herself.
Well, I hope everyone had a nice time. Have a great week.
