Ed Eames was my friend.  I didn't agree with his position that everyone 
should have a guide dog, but what did that matter.  You could talk to Ed 
about anything, about stuff guys never talk about.  He was generous with his 
time and he devoted his life to furthering the cause of assistance dogs and 
getting them a place at the table.  He was a right guy, and I'm glad I knew
