The California Association of Guide Dog Users (CAGDU), a Division of the National Federation of the Blind of California (NFBC), is offering a $150 grant to (1) a first-time guide dog user; or (2) a first-time convention attendee who is a guide dog user; or (3) a guide dog user who has not attended a NFBC convention in a long time; to attend the state convention of the National Federation of the Blind in Irvine. The award will be made at the CAGDU meeting. The winner must attend the CAGDU meeting from 10:30-12:00 on Friday October 22, all general sessions of the convention, and the Banquet at the convention. If you are a first-time guide dog user or a first-time convention attendee who uses a guide dog, or if you use a guide dog and have not attended the NFBC convention in a long time, and you agree to meet the above criteria, please send your name, your dog’s name, the school you attended, how long you have had your guide dog, and a paragraph discussing why you think attending the convention will benefit you, to shannonldillon at hotmail.com.
