Hi,
No, this is not about pooper-scoopers for canes, hahahaha.

At work, I have been receiving some occasional flack about how "aggressively" I use my cane, and how it is too long. Last weekend, at the convention, I was relieved to hear some other people using obviously long canes in a manner similar to mine. I think some people see our canes as identification of blindness rather than the toolfor getting around that they are. In my case, besides being totally blind, I have extremely weak ankles and I fall easily. Having the longer cane and using a wider arc protect me better. I had to explain this to my boss and to some coworkers. I was glad to notice, last weekend, that I am not so way-off after all.
Thanks
Lauren
