Subject : Appointment of Program Manager for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Services
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Roldan as the Program
Manager for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) Section, effective
January 2, 2013. As Program Manager, Stephen will administer the DHHS and
also provide specialized technical assistance and consultation to
departmental staff regarding consumer and administrative services.
Stephen has devoted most of his career working in the field of vocational
rehabilitation. He worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor on a variety of
caseloads, including a deaf and hard of hearing caseload for several years
with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) in the State of
Washington. In recognition of his exemplary work as a Rehabilitation
Counselor, Stephen was subsequently promoted to the Statewide Coordinator of
Deaf Services for the DVR, where he worked collaboratively with the
Rehabilitation Counselors for the Deaf, field staff, and community partners
to serve consumers who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened and
deaf-blind. In his capacity as the Statewide Coordinator, Stephen
demonstrated effective team building and leadership skills with various
stakeholders, which will be of great benefit to the Department.
Stephen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Brigham Young
University and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from San
Diego State University.
Please join me in welcoming Stephen to the DOR and to his DHHS Program
Manager assignment.
