Appointment of Executive Officer, California Committee on Employment of
People with Disabilities

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Triano as the Executive
Officer for the California Committee on Employment of People with
Disabilities (CCEPD) at the Department of Rehabilitation. In this capacity,
Sarah will work with CCEPD members and stakeholders to fulfill the vision of
full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce in accordance
with the Workforce Inclusion Act. Sarah will be responsible for providing
guidance, direction, and executive leadership to the CCEPD members and staff
regarding the development and implementation of the CCEPD priorities, and
building collaborative relationships with state and local partners to
accomplish these priorities.

An alumnus of the first annual California Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) for
high school students with disabilities, Sarah has dedicated her career in
disability rights. Most recently she has served as the executive director
of the Silicon Valley Independent Living Center since 2009. At the Access
Living of Metropolitan Chicago, she held various positions including program
director from 2001 to 2008. Sarah has also served on boards and
commissions, and publicly represented the employment needs of people with
disabilities. She was a member of the Santa Clara County Health Care Reform
Stakeholders Group in 2012, Santa Clara County Emergency Food and Shelter
Program Board from 2010 to 2012, California Foundation for Independent
Living Centers and the Northern California TBI Model System Advisory Board
from 2009 to 2012.

Sarah has completed a Bachelor's degree in History of Public Policy from
University of California, Santa Barbara.

Please join me in welcoming Sarah Triano as the Executive Officer for the
CCEPD.

Onward,

Tony Sauer

Director
