Hello Federation family,
I'd appreciate your feedback about the requirement of a photograph on some
bus passes but not on all bus passes.
The local Metropolitan Transit System requires persons with a disability,
Medicare recipients and individuals over the age of sixty to have their
photograph on their COMPASS Card, (bus pass). The MTS justifies this
requirement for the purpose of preventing this particular population from
sharing of one's COMPASS Card. On the other hand, all other adults are not
required to have their photograph on their COMPASS Card. Evidently, MTS
doesn't think this segment of the population will lend out their COMPASS
Card.
Is the local transit administration profiling a specific population by
requiring a photograph on the owner's COMPASS CARD? Why or why not?
Thank you.
From,
Lisa Irving
