Chad's blind driving outing was really cool, I remember reading about it 
somewhere, maybe on Blind Cool Tech.

However, that wasn't a rally.

I have been a navigator on rallies several times in my youth, and it's a lot 
of fun.

Basically, the driver's job is to follow the navigator's instructions, which 
are provided in electronic form, large print, or Braille.

The competition is how close to a specified time you arrive at various 
checkpoints.  i.e. if your driver follows your directions to the letter, it 
will take 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive at the first checkpoint.  Your 
team gets points off for arriving earlier or later than that time.  Neither 
the navigator nor the driver are told what those times are, they're just 
told where to go, and how fast to drive.

It's a lot of fun, and is a real team event.  Not just a blind person riding 
along with the driver.
