Lisa,
I admire your moxi!  Your story reminds me of my own, and yes the NFB believed in me and for someone who was written off as only having a sixty iq I earned a BA and an MA in counseling,  I worked as a counselor at a domestic violence shelter and a rape crisis counselor.  When I couldn't get the social worker position for the county only because I could not drive I went to IRS where I retired as a Management Analyst and was awarded the Albert Gallatin award the highest honorary award for the Dpt of the Treasury.
