Hi Nancy,

First, this is not directly blindness related and thus some may object to the email. However, Social Security issues do affect blind citizens too.

Second, I do not find a link to the petition in the email.

Best Regards,

Michael Hingson

Subject: Good news about YOUR Social Security!

Dozens of groups have come together to expand Social Security. Congress is hearing our voice!

            We Can and We Will!
You and I have spent years defending Social Security from Wall Street and right-wing budget hawks who want to cut our earned benefits. Now we have an opportunity to go on offense.

Now is the time to EXPAND Social Security, not cut it.

Americans are forced to retire later than their counterparts in other wealthy nations. Senior poverty is unacceptably high. Retirees no longer have real pensions after years of service to an employer. Instead most of us 401(k)s that are vulnerable to drops in the stock market.

The solution is for the United States Congress to pass legislation that expands Social Security benefits and ensures a more secure retirement for all, not just the wealthy few.

Take action. Join over a dozen groups and send Congress a message: Expand, don’t cut Social Security.

            Thank you for your support,

            Roger Hickey
