Clark.
I still haven't received any answers to my question regarding Chegg. There is an orientation Webinar scheduled For tomorrow for new tutors that I registered for. Since the company is publicly traded and has hundreds of employees world-wide and the phone numbers online are for customer service only, tracking down the appropriate decision maker was a bit more complicated than just looking for a phone number online. However, I believe I might have a contact person to call if I don't get the info I need by tomorrow.
Thanks for responding.
Chris

Good morning Christopher
I am not sure if you've got an answer to your question yet regarding chegg online tutoring platform.
If you look them up on the Internet you should be able to get a phone number for the company. I would call them and ask who to speak with. Also you might be able to find a listing of the officers for the company'. You want to find out who the I T's officer is. And then contact them and they should be able to answer all your questions.

Hi Christopher,
There is an adaptive Technology company called Access Ingenuity in this area. You may check with them:
(707) 579-4380
I think that is the number.

Unfortunately, I do not. Just my local agency for the blind which would not be able to work with me in my case unless I go through the vocational rehabilitation process. Even with that, the access technology specialist at my agency and I could determine that the online platform is completely inaccessible. I was able to complete the online application, but this took some real effort and trial and error as the platform appears to be Dhtml-based. What I'm looking for is either information about who specifically to contact at Chegg who would be responsible for making their platform accessible or whether or not a blindness-organization would have reached out to them regarding same. If the latter, I'm thinking the organization would either be one of the three NFB chapters physically located near their headquarters, the local ACB chapters in the area, either organization's state affiliate or possibly SF Lighthouse. I've already sent the president of the Bay Area, East Bay and SF Chapters separate emails earlier this afternoon.
Thanks for your response.
Chris

Hi Christopher,
My name is Marianne. I just went on the tutoring website and tried to download the demo tutoring lesson. I had difficulties with Jaws to reach that. Do you have any friends who work for adaptive technology companies.
If yes, they may be able to be of help to you, more than I can.
Best Regards,
Marianne

P.S. You can email me privately, so that we can exchange phone numbers and keep talking on accessibility.

Hello all.
My name is Christopher Sabine, and I am a Federationist and Secretary of the Cincinnati Chapter in Ohio. I'm writing today because I have accepted a position as a tutor for the Chegg Corporation. Chegg provides online tutoring and textbook rentals to secondary and post-secondary students. I need to know if the online platform Chegg uses is accessible to screen reader users on a Windows-based PC.
So far, I've posted to my local and state affiliates as well as the National Organization of Blind Educators Division list and received no response. I also spoke with Clara from the National Braille & Technology Center on Thursday. Not surprisingly, no one there has heard of Chegg and its services.
I'm posting to your affiliate list because Chegg is based in Santa Clara, so it's possible the company might have done some outreach to the State Affiliate or the three Chapters that could serve Blind Employees-the Bay Area, East Bay or San Francisco Chapters-might have dealt with them directly. I'll be emailing the presidents of these three chapters individually. I've also tried to contact Chegg's support community by email, but again, not surprisingly, no results.
Any information about how to contact this company and / or any outreach it might have done with either the Federation or another blindness organization in CA would be greatly appreciated. I'm really looking forward to this opportunity and hope I don't have to miss out on some extra income because of accessibility issues.
Very Best Regards,
Chris
