Did you know there is a new cash back tax credit available to working Californians for the first time this tax season? The California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) mimics the federal EITC, but is available for workers with a lower income.

If you have employees that made less than $14,161 in 2016, they may qualify for the Cal EITC. The average credit amount for the Cal EITC is $500. This boost in their refund could mean a lot to your employees, so please help us tell them about it!

Please encourage your employees to:

1. Find out if they are eligible for the state and/or federal EITC with the CalEITC4Me Calculator, available in English, Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin) at CalEITC4Me.org/get-it.
2. Find no-cost tax assistance near them with our Free Tax Prep Finder at CalEITC4Me.org/get-it.
You can also download and print this bilingual 11x17 Cal EITC informational poster to post in your break room.

This tax season, please make sure your workers and employees Know It, Earn It, and Get It! Learn more about the EITC by visiting CalEITC4Me.org/.

Thank you,

CalEITC4Me, the statewide coalition promoting California’s new Earned Income Tax Credit.
