Don’t forget that even if you are not a registered Aira explorer you can download the Aira app and sign up as a guest. If you do this in advance you can become acquainted with the Aira app’s features. Then on shopping day you can use Aira for free. All Aira access locations are available to any blind person with the Aira app installed on their smart phones.

In addition to the San Fernando shopping experience please be aware that if you visit any Walgreens store or any AT&T facility these establishments are now always Aira accessible. So, you can download the app today, install it and then visit Walgreens or AT&T and shop independently.

Happy Thanks Giving to all.

Best Regards,

Subject: [Nfbc-info] Holiday Shopping

Hello San Fernando Valley Chapter Members, and friends!

As you may know, the holidays are just around the corner, and most of us go shopping around this time of the year to purchase gifts for our loved ones for the holidays. These tines tend to get stressful and at times may not be enjoyable for all. As a chapter, we have decided to take on this task as a group. We plan to go holiday shopping on Saturday December 1, 2018 at the Northridge Fashion Center which is located at 9301 Tampa Avenue, Northridge CA 91324. We are planning on arriving at 12 PM to grab lunch from the food court and begin our shopping at 1 PM. We will divide the group into smaller groups depending on what people's interests are. The best part is that we will get to undergo this task independently with the assistance of our navigational skills, our members who may be a bit more familiar with the mall, and best of all, the mall will be a site access location for the day using Aira. If you are not an Aira Explorer, do not worry. We will pair you with someone who is or someone who is familiar with the mall.

We plan to leave the mall around 4 PM. Also, for drop off and pick up locations, we will be using the lower level of the mall at the City Ride stand between sees candy and sears. We will have someone at the drop off point assisting to guide people to where our group will be congregating.

If you are interested in getting some of your holiday shopping out of the way and do it with friends, please RSVP by sending an e-mail to juanita.herrera91 at gmail.com <mailto:juanita.herrera91 at gmail.com>

If anyone has any questions or is unclear on any of this information, please feel free to reach out to me.

Best Regards,
