Denise. I am not the moderator, but I agree. When we receive duplicates, triplicates, or quadlicates of the same message, it becomes redundant.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

US House of Representatives Passes Marrakesh Treaty Implementation
Act Treaty Now Awaits Presidential Action

Washington, DC (September 25, 2018): The United States House of
Representatives has passed the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act
(S. 2559), which makes modest changes to copyright law that will
bring the United States into compliance with the terms of the
Marrakesh Treaty. The Senate gave its advice and consent to
ratification of the treaty and passed the implementing legislation on June 28.

"For almost a decade now, the National Federation of the Blind, our
partners, and other advocates have worked to bring the Marrakesh
Treaty into being and into force," said Mark A. Riccobono, President
of the National Federation of the Blind. "Today we applaud the United
States House of Representatives for its passage of the Marrakesh
Treaty Implementation Act. We now urge President Trump to sign this
implementing legislation, and to order the State Department to
deposit the instrument of ratification with the World Intellectual
Property Organization as soon as practicable. We are closer than ever
to the day when blind Americans will have greater access to the
world's knowledge, in many of its original languages, than we have
ever had in human history."

Hello.

My name is Christopher Sabine, and I am Secretary of the Federation Chapter
in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've joined the California list for employment related
reasons in the past and have posted here previously.

I am a consultant for families of children with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. I am
writing because I am potentially about to start working with the mother of a
child with ONH and total Blindness in Orange County, CA (Huntington Beach).
The parent is dealing with a lot of personal issues and having difficulty
with the TVI at the child's local school formulating an IEP. Do you know
where I can determine if NOBPC has a Chapter there and if there is a parent
who is in a position (personally / professionally) to work with this family?
Specifically, I am looking for a parent mentor / advocate who can facilitate
IEP meetings for this family and physically attend IEP meetings / serve as a
coach / voice of reason for this parent as needed. The real issue is that
the child needs access to braille instruction. I suspect there may also be
developmental differences involved that the local educational agency /
school district is not in a position to recognize.

Any information or referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Much,

Chris

Dear all,

May I suggest that we refrain from forwarding what has been sent out
to the everyone subscribed to the NFBnet listserve?
In other words, if a news of importance such as this is sent out to
the email address, Nfbnet-members-list at nfbnet.org, everyone who is
subscribed to any sort of nfbnet.org listserve, including NFB of
California, receives the message.
Thus, when that same message gets forwarded within the California
listserve, we end up with the same message multiple times, creating an
unnecessary duplicate or triplicate of the message.

Thank you for your attention and consideration.

Best,

Miso Kwak
