Thank you Jason, for putting up the file on this busy day.

The American Council of the Blind invites you to a live reading of the classic tale The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving performed live by professional narrator Chris Voss to celebrate Halloween.

This frightening Halloween tale is the story of Ichabod Crane, a tall, lanky schoolmaster in Sleepy Hollow, who loves Katrina Van Tassel, a wealthy farmer's daughter. His chief rival for Katrina's affection is Brom Van Brunt, a powerfully-built mischief-maker whom everyone calls Brom Bones. At a "merry making" one evening, Crane hears the tale of a headless horseman who haunts the region, and with whom Crane will soon have a terrifying encounter. The live audio drama will run for approximately 80 minutes, followed by a brief question and answer session with Chris Voss.

Chris Voss will also be making a copy of his narration of this classic tale available to the Perkins Braille & Talking Book Library, where he is a volunteer narrator, for their collection.

Chris Voss is a Lexington, Massachusetts, native and is the weekday afternoon host on Classical Radio Boston, 99.5 WCRB-FM. He also hosts, writes, and produces the weekly WCRB "Out of the Box" segment. Before going to radio, he trained as an opera singer, earning a Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of Georgia in 2014. He has been narrating audio books for the Perkins Recording Studio for just over a year, and he also reads for the monthly Somerville writer's showcase called "GrownUp StoryTime".

Happy Halloween!
