Hi Federationists!
The NFB of California, San Joaquin County Chapter invites you to celebrate “Meet the Blind Month” with us!
>> Sat., Oct. 5, 10:00 AM-2:00PM We will host a table at the Multicultural Health & Resource Fair at Lord’s Gym, 848 E. Hammer Ln, Stockton, CA sharing info and writing names in braille.
>>
>> Fri., Oct. 11, 8:00 AM-2:00 PM We will hand out “Etiquette of Blindness” info, NFB brochures and flyers for our White Cane Awareness Walk/Whirlow’s Fundraiser at San Joaquin RTD’s Union Station, Downtown Transit Center, Hammer Triangle Station and Mall Transfer Station in Stockton.

>> Tues., Oct. 15 We will hold our White Cane Awareness Walk & Celebration from 12:00-1:00 PM. Event kicks off with a ceremony at Caldwell Park, 3021 Pacific Ave, Stockton and ends at Whirlow’s Restaurant, 1926 Pacific Ave, Stockton in support of our all-day 20% fundraiser there.

>> We are also finalizing details of an "Intro to Braille Workshop" for family & friends of the blind to be held later in October at a local library and dedicated to the memory of our Past President, Ken Volonte. Participants will learn the basics of how to read and write uncontracted braille and take home an NFB braille alphabet card upon wich they have typed their own name.
