[NFBC-Info] A general question regarding making appointment with DMV regarding ID card renewal and taking photo

Hello Chela,

You can fill out an application to Begin the process of obtaining your California real ID online.I think at this time due to the pandemic they are suggesting that you submit an online application and finish the rest once you visit your local DMV  office.That way you don't have to spend too much time at the office. They will take your picture and have you sign the application once you are there as you cannot do this using the online portal. From what I understand, submitting some of the information online is their way of expediting the process.Below are the links to get you started:

Please keep in mind that you must create an account on the DMV website in order for you to schedule an appointment or to start the application online. Also, if you decide to submit the application online, you will be asked to present a confirmation when you go to your local DMV office showing that you have completed some of the process online. I'm guessing you will receive some kind of email confirmation.
