Hi Californians,

Well it's been a couple of weeks since our last call for NFBC resolutions
and as of yet our committee hasn't received a single draft resolution.
Either all of our blindness problems in California have been solved, or
everyone is working hard on drafts they will send to us in the next few
days. (smiles)

In any case, NFBC members have just two more weeks until our deadline for
draft resolutions on October 10th. We are open to all ideas and basic
drafts. And all committee members will happily help you. If we hear from
you by our deadline.

So just take a moment to think what matters to you as a blind Californian
and get in touch at your early convenience. Committee members and contact
information are listed at the end of our original email, below.

Kind Regards,

Bryan

Subject: [NFBC-Info] Call for California Resolutions Drafts

Hello Californians,

Well our state convention is just six weeks out. Which means it's time for
NFB of California members to start proposing resolutions to be debated and
voted on during our state convention in late October.

These resolutions have real power in guiding government, education and
commerce to improve their relationship to California's blind citizens. They
crystalize how our members feel today about important issues, and what we
want the wider world to do about them.

The world has changed in the last year and a half of the pandemic, and we
have issues in transportation, employment, education and accessibility, to
name just a few. You don't need to be an expert resolution-writer to make
an impact; some of our best resolutions have come from first-timers.

So won't you take a moment to draft a resolution that matters to you? It
doesn't need to be perfect, but simply to mention the reasons why it's
important and what you want to happen if your resolution passes. The NFBC
website has all the 2020 California resolutions available to use as a
model, if you like. And all members of the 2021 Resolutions Committee are
more than willing to help you get your resolution into the best format.
Please feel free to reach out to committee members Shannon, Cricket, Miguel,
Ever Lee, Rachel, Tim or me for assistance.

We'll need to have all draft resolutions to the committee no later than
5:00 pm on Sunday, October 10th so that the committee can do its job in
helping to shape them to best advantage. Of course we'd love them earlier,
ideally by the end of September.

So feel free to write to me directly with your starter resolutions and we'll
take things from there. My direct email is: bashin at calweb.com.

Looking forward to great resolutions and a wonderful convention.

Yours,

Bryan Bashin
