Californians,

Doing social justice work means taking the time to speak or write truth to
power. There are so many injustices that blind Californians face, and
collectively we can do something about them. So now is the time to make a
difference and send us a draft resolution. The window closes this Sunday at
5:00 pm.

At the very bottom of this email you'll find the names and email addresses
of all on the NFBC Resolutions Committee this year. Please reach out to any
of us, and we'll be happy to get your resolution closer to the finish line.
This weekend is your last chance to do this in 2022, so feel invited to
approach the committee, or me directly to polish your draft idea to make it
count.

We are grateful for your time and effort.

Warmly,

Bryan Bashin

Resolutions Committee Chair

See below for previous emails and committee information:

Californians,

We've gotten a couple of great draft resolutions so far, but the time is
drawing near when the Resolutions Committee will need your ideas in order to
craft a powerful resolution.

Remember, you don't have to be an expert to advance an idea, but we do need
your first rough draft by Sunday, October 16th at 5:00 pm. At the bottom of
this email please find a list of Resolutions Committee members, all of whom
will be happy to work with you to get your idea into resolution format. But
we need to hear from you first.

So please feel free to reach out and help write something that may literally
change the world we live in. All of us in the movement are grateful for
your effort.

Kind regards,

Bryan Bashin

Resolutions Committee Chair

Hello Californians,

Well our state convention is little more than six weeks out. Which means
it's time for NFB of California members to start proposing resolutions to be
debated and voted on during our state convention November 3-6.

These resolutions have real power in guiding government, education and
commerce to improve their relationship to California's blind citizens.

They crystalize how our members feel today about important issues, and what
we want the wider world to do about them.

The world has changed since we last met in person. A pandemic, a
contraction of blindness services, new access barriers, to name a few. Add
to that issues in transportation, employment, education and personal safety.
You don't need to be an expert resolution-writer to make an impact; some of
our best resolutions have come from first-timers.

But we do need to hear from you quickly.

So won't you take a moment to draft a resolution that matters to you? It
doesn't need to be perfect, as our Resolutions committee is full of mentors
who will help you. but simply to mention the reasons why it's important and
what you want to happen if your resolution passes. The NFBC website hosts
all recent California resolutions available to use as a model, if you like.
And all members of the 2022 Resolutions Committee are more than willing to
help you get your resolution into the best format. Please feel free to
reach out to any committee member listed below for assistance.

We'll need to have all draft resolutions to the committee no later than

5:00 pm on Sunday, October16th so that the committee can do its job in
helping to shape them to best advantage. Of course we'd love them earlier,
ideally by the end of September.

All are welcome to write to me directly with your starter resolutions and
we'll take things from there. My direct email is: bashin at calweb.com
<mailto:bashin at calweb.com> .

Looking forward to great resolutions and a wonderful convention.

Yours,

Bryan Bashin

Resolutions Committee Chair
