Please join the Silicon Valley chapter this Saturday on Zoom at 3pm for our monthly chapter meeting. The big topic of discussion this week is Advocacy: Fight, Flight, or Find Another Way.

In the words of Kenny Rogers, “You’ve gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away…” But does this same thinking come into play when you’re faced with accessibility barriers, inequity, or discrimination? How do we decide when to advocate for ourselves gently but firmly, when to find a workaround to problems just to get things done and move on  When do we take our business elsewhere, or pull out all the stops and pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law? And do we always have a choice?

Come ready to chat, share experiences, and enjoy respectful but enthusiastic debate as we explore this aspect of living the lives we want.
