Hello All,

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, I was notified by Tim Elder, Calif. State
President that the  nominating committee did not put forth my  name for
re-election. I strongly wish to remain on the board. I have worked hard and
wish to continue to serve.

I had served on the board for many  years and had to step down to care for
my ill father until his passing I was re-elected last year.



I would like to share with you how I have helped the Shasta Cascade Chapter
and the State Affiliate:



Local- Shasta Cascade Chapter accomplishments:

   - Served as President and currently Vice President
   - Helped to restart the Shasta Cascade Chapter with Ron Gardner
   - Helped the chapter organize several fund raising activities including;
      - Annual wine tasting
      - Spaghetti feed
      - Silent auction
      - Bake sales
      - Candy sales
   - Promoted NFB on local radio talk shows,
   - Participated in setting up informational tables at a variety of local
   events including informational walks
   - Met with several City of Redding Mayors and other officials to discuss
   issues relevant to persons with disabilities
   - Attended meeting with election officials to discuss voting issues and
   preview and give input on accessible voting machines
   - I have been a certified teacher for Bell Academy for several years



State Affiliate Accomplishments:

   - Attended legislative hearings relevant to NFB  in Sacramento
   - Attended many Washington Seminars
   - Been in charge of the California table at National Convention
   - Been a mentor for a 1st timer at national
   - Been chairman of the Scholarship Committee
   - Been in charge of the auction baskets
   - Member of the Fund Raising Committee
   - Helped with registration and wherever else I was needed at State
   - Worked at three day  membership drive at National



I am the only Board Member representing California north of Sacramento and
I strongly  feel we deserve representation.
