> DCRC's Peer Specialist Training (PST) is a certificate program by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. A free class for adults who have lived experience with mental health disabilities wanting to begin a career in the social services field. It includes training on evidence-based practices and the 12 core competencies required by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

> Now Registering for the May 3rd – June 24th, 2021 Training 
> The PST program is tentative to begin Monday, May 3 through 
> Thursday June 24. Classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays over a 8 week period. Students will spend 5 hours a day in class totaling 120 class hours followed by a non-paid internship at a local social service agency for a total of 96 hours. Because our office is not open for our regular hours of operation due to the COVID-19, the sessions will be provided virtually through Zoom.

> Adults age 18 or older who:
> have achieved wellness with their mental health disability and/or recovery from alcohol or substances for a minimum of 2 years,
> have a high school diploma or GED, and,
> Can demonstrate basic computer literacy/proficiency and have a working computer, laptop or tablet.
