[nfbcs] question about Uverse from AT&T

You are definitely correct about the audio quality of phone calls. 
Sometimes, it is really staticky.  We are on Earthlink Truvoice and 
sometimes it is GREAT.  Sometimes, the reception is louzy.  If we have a 
power outage or no internet service, we have no 911 service from the "land 
line".  There are some disadvantages.
