The num lock might be turned on this computer. Have you check if num lock
is on or off. Do you have standard keyboard? Should be able to press down
the insert key and then down or up arrow keys

Subject: [nfbcs] Odd keyboard behavior

Hi all,

I just started using a new computer. It has Windows XP, JAWS 10, and
ZoomText 8.

I'm thinking that this is probably some kind of setting. I've always been
able to hold down the insert key and press any other key as many times as I
wanted and the insert key would still be active. Now, if for example, I
perform the read line command (insert+uparrow) and continue to hold the
insert and press the uparrow again, the insert key is ignored and it is as
if I'm just pressing the uparrow.

Alternatively, if I hold down the alt key and press the tab key several
times, the keystroke continues to acknowledge the alt key. It appears to be
specific to the insert keys.

I've been exposed to quite a number of computers through home and work, but
this is the first time I've run into this one. So if anyone has any ideas
of what's going on, I would appreciate knowing them.

Thanks in advance,

-- Rob
