Good afternoon everyone,
I'm working on a Web project for a client who uses Window-Eyes. I
proposed placing "Landmarks" a type of ARIA Navigation feature that permits
one to move between particular areas of Web pages. Unlike header and
same-page navigation landmark navigation is flexible and is user-definable.
Users of Firefox and recent Versions of Jaws for Windows can use landmarks
to move around Web pages. An example of how they're used can be found at:
http://www.bookshare.org
In Jaws you can navigate landmarks using the semicolon to move forward
or shift+semicolon to move up the page. Does this same key sequence work in
Window-Eyes? And for that matter is this a screen reader or a
Windows-specific key sequence? My marching orders for this client are, "If
it's going to enhance site accessibility put it on. Otherwise leave it off."
Please let me know if Window-Eyes supports page navigation by landmarks.
Thanks for your help.
