The Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) is currently seeking an IS Technical Services Professional. 

 

Job Duties:   

This position functions as the statewide education authority for assistive technologies for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This position provides consultation, technical assistance, evaluation, training/instruction, and some helpdesk functions in the area of assistive technology for the blind. In addition, provides limited backup network administration and assistance to the WCBVI Technology Coordinator. Travels throughout Wisconsin to provide expertise in technology for the blind to local educational agencies, teachers, parents, students, and other individuals/organizations. Assists in the planning of Statewide School District and WCBVI technology purchases. Makes recommendations as to the scope and depth of the WCBVI technology equipment loan program in addition to maintaining the loan equipment and related database (including the new materials received from statewide Assistive Technology loan program).
