Welcome as well.

My name is Mike. I'm a working stiff out in industry. I'm also using Eclipse and Java as well as Visual Basic 6 (an ancient language to be sure). I just got finished studying a section in the book I'm reading about GUI development in Java ... and you're right .. it is a pain. Perhaps that's why companies are shying away from develop thick client desktop apps in Java and moving toward HTML thin client browser based solutions. Just a thought there. Anyway, I'm reading the Deitel and Deitel book on Java programming ... actually a pretty good book. Don't know if I can be of help with Java but just shoot an email and I'll try to be if I can.

I take my hat off to you for doing your Masters program. That's like a full-time job.

Anyway, enough. Just wanted to say hi.

I haven't had time to look through the mailing list archive yet but I'm planning on it. Sorry I missed everyone at the convention. I was too worried about work to go.
