[nfbcs] PDF documents

I am being asked to check a PDF document for accessibility. It read just fine, however when I tried to get a list of links with insert f7 I lost complete ability to do anything and after about two minutes and some escapes speech returned and I could end the program. I am able to hit h and go from heading to heading. With the down arrow I could go down the table of contents, but when I hit enter on something I wanted to jump to I got no speech again. I do not have the original Microsoft Word document.
