[nfbcs] External hard drive problem

The OP is having issues with a WD MyPassport drive. These are 2.5" drives that draw power from the USB connection exclusively. There is no power adapter to plug in. 

I've had one of these drives malfunction. Judging from the clicking sounds it makes after connecting, it's a mechanical issue in my case.
