[nfbcs] Question about Hims Braille Edge 40

David's post about the case for the Braille Edge is good to know.  I'm glad the case makers are staying abreast of the new products and the case works.

Now, I'm wondering if anybody out there has purchased an Edge
I'm looking for a "notetaker" that will do basic word processing .. not sure if I'll do spreadsheets or powerpoints .... but definitely writing on it and reading (at least hope to) BRF files such as book files that you might get from NLS.  I also want to connect to my IOS family of devices that I own.  My PacMate .. nothing wrong with it at all ... it takes notes just fine.  However, it doesn't connect to IOS and Freedom says it won't do that even if I got a BlueTooth card and there are no plans to update Mr. PacMate to allow that.  What a shame.

So .. if someone does have an Edge, what do you think of it as a Braille Display and as a basic notetaking device?
Any pros, cons ... I'd like to hear it all so I can decide if this machine is right for me.

Or, would I be better off selling my PacMate (good luck ... if eBayis any indication ... getting more than $1000 for it) and getting a new device such as an Apex?  That would be the full featured device

I know .. some of you might say ... "it just depends on what you want to do ... but to have all bases covered ... go with the new notetaker such as Apex that has the notetaking features plus the bluetooth, USB, and WI-FI capability".

Yes, I've thought of that ... just trying to decide if doing the whole 9 yards is necessary or if the Edge would be a good compromise.
