That is a problem that you will have regardless of what command line you are
using. If you are talking about the program that I think that you are
talking about, that can only go so far. Editing files is one thing, but
executing and compiling is another. At work, I use a combination of the two.
I have a network directory mounted so that I can edit using Windows, but I
ssh to my linux box to do compilation and execution.

Hello Tara,
I found that JAWS and Putty could not agree on the cursor position. The
cursor always seemed to be a couple of spaces removed from where JAWS said
it was.
For this reason, I started using SecureCRT, for about $70, at
http://www.vandyke.com/products/securecrt/.
I would be happy to talk with you about computer accessibility.
Do not worry about sending questions to the list, that is how we all learn.

Hi,
I've posted to this list before and received really helpful feedback. So
figured you could help me with another issue.
I just started my courses at Oregon State in Computer Science, and almost
all materials have been easy to use. Yet, I am looking for hints in using
Putty. I've Googled keywords and found some information, but I wasn't sure
how current it was. I figured JAWS 14 may have some enhancements for
working in Putty that earlier versions did not. My professor said I can use
another program comparable to it, so if you all know of one that is more
accessible, let me know.
I'm also looking for a mentor to talk to about CS--someone who I can contact
off list or via phone for specific issues. Isn't there someone at NFB who
assist in this area? If so, how do I get in contact? Or, do you know of CS
organizations for Disabled or blind that give feedback on accessibility
issues. I don't want to bombard this list with questions.
You can call or e-mail me.
Thanks,
Tara
