[nfbcs] help needed setting up outlook on windows 8.1 for a Pop3 account

All that I can suggest is to open both the old and the new machine and
double check the new one. If Outlook automatically set up the account
without you inputting all of the information, then remove the account and
redo it by hand. I recently got a new computer. Outlook did fine with my two
Wavecable pop3 accounts and my imap Gmail account, but it screwed up my
Comcast account, thinking that it was imap when it was pop3.

Subject: [nfbcs] help needed setting up outlook on windows 8.1 for a Pop3
account

Hi all,

I posted to the list before I was working on getting a new laptop. The new
laptop has Windows 8.1, JAWS 16, Microsoft outlook 2013 I have numerous
email accounts I am trying to setup, and most are POP3 accounts. e.g.
verizon.net I have tried everything I can think of. It looks like I was able
to receive new email, but unable to send any email. I did a lot of googling.
My wife even helped me with a online chat with Microsoft tech support. They
said I had to contact verizon. Has anyone come across this problem and
found a solution?

Here is the kicker.... I know I have the correct host names and port numbers
and user account password info. I know this info is correct because I have
it working on my Windows 7, JAWS 16, Microsoft Office 2007. and it is
working on my iPhone 5c.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Graham Mehl
