[nfbcs] Questions About Visual Studio .Net 2013

Hi all:

I have Visual Studio .Net 2013 Community Edition and have been going through
a C# book-Learning C# 3.0 by Jesse Liberty. I prefer to use NVDA as my
primary screen reader but it appears as though JAWS is better for such tasks
as manipulating controls on forms in the designer. I have a couple of
questions. First, I've found a web page called Visual Studio Tips for Blind
Programmers on http://empowermentzone.com/ndn.htm which is a compilation of
tips from throughout the years provided on blind programming list serves.
These, however, seem to be primarily concerned with VS 2008. If there are
any additional tips to make Visual Studio work better with either JAWS or
NVDA, I would greatly appreciate hearing them. I am interested in tips
about the design window, primarily. I notice that using the arrow keys both
by themselves and in combinations with the control key announce left/right
followed by a number. I assume that, by doing this, I'm moving the controls
around on the form but I haven't seen a clear explanation as to how this
works.

Thanks for your input and if there are any additional bits of information
that would assist me in using the forms designer, they would be greatly
appreciated! In addition, any other C# book recommendations would be
appreciated. I have some questions regarding Computer Science academic
programs which I will send in a later email.

Thanks,

Robby
