[nfbcs] Your thoughts on erosion of Windows accessibility

I miss DOS too, but I get my fix on Linux which is my hobby at home. However in the work world, we mostly get stuck with Windows and software which these days, appears to be more and more complex and  less and less reliable access-wise.

I think the silver lining though is that knowing all this technology is great for your skill set.  Employers never cared that I could hack around on Linux at home. They have however been interested in how I could script a screen reader (even if it was something very simple and not related to what they were hiring for) or that I could figure out how to perform a task with documentation. As one interviewer once said "I'd rather have a person who can RTFM than someone who can draw."
