Hi Steve and Leslie, yes lync which is incidentally spelled lync l y n c not
link does need to be running to schedule a lync meeting.

The easiest way to start to schedule a lync meeting is to find the first
meeting attendee if he/she is in your lync contacts and right-click, windows
context key/shift f10 and invite him/her that way, from here you can fill in
the remaining information.

If you schedule the meeting from within lync itself it your meeting invite
that outlook sends out to the invitees will include a web address for
invitees to virtually attend from their pc using the lync client as opposed
to attending in-person in a meeting room at your office.

I apologize that I can't send step by step instructions because I don't
remember all the steps, my employer migrated from lync to skype for business
in 2017.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance, good luck and hth

Leslie,

Link became Skype for Business a couple of years ago, are you actually still
using Link? I know that with Skyp for Business, one has to have Skype for
Business running in order to schedule a meeting and send an invitation, and
that might be true for Link. Also, there used to be specific buttons for
scheduling a Skype for Business meeting further into the ribbon that might
need to be activated.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Does anyone know the keystrokes for scheduling a Lync meeting through
Outlook 2010? The disability answer desk told me to press control-shift Q.
This placed a meeting on my calendar, but with no link or call-in number.
I also attempted to schedule a meeting by finding my first attendee with
Lync and pressed my applications key. The same thing happened where I could
schedule the appointment itself, but with no link or call-in number.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I'm using Microsoft Lync and
Outlook 2010 with Jaws 2018. Thanks.
