[NFBCS] reducing picture size

	hello.  There is an open source package called image Magic that will
do what you want.  The command is: "convert" and it has a lot of different
functionalities, one of which is to resize pictures.  It can also do things
like rotate, convert from tif to jpg, or jpg to pdf.  It's completely
command line driven, so completely accessible.
