[NFBCS] Technology Breakthroughs

Folks,

I had two technology breakthroughs today by asking questions of user support.

First, my Focus Braille display now works with JAWS 2021. It seems that infrequently, the Liblouis upgrade from version 3.1.12 to 3.1.15 does not happen when JAWS is upgraded. Once this upgrade was done manually, things worked. This change is done in the advanced area of the Braille options in the settings center. Note the new Liblouis library was loaded, but I had to change the option to use it.

Secondly, for the Orbit 20 plus: if you set profile 4 to have both the sys and wr libraries to be UEB2, then, if you create a .txt file, type UEB2 into it, save and close it, and move it to a windows machine, then the file is converted into a .txt file. That is, you do not need SendToBraille to convert a Braille file (with the txt extension) to a true .txt file.

There is a lot of power, and mystery, in the new Orbit 20 plus.

Happy thanksgiving.
