Did you make sure the USB stick was before your hard drive in the boot order of your BIOS? Alternatively, you can use the right hot key to bring up the boot list and choose the device you want to boot from. The hot key will be dependent on your BIOS.

Subject: [NFBCS] Question: using a bootable USB drive

Hello:

Wanting to try a Linux distribution, I downloaded Accessible Coconut and the Etcher software.

Using a 32GB usb stick, I flashed the .iso file. Etcher reported that the flash work correctly.

I then placed the USB drive into a Windows 8 box I have and turned on the PC. The PC started up and instead of booting into Linux, started JAWS. What step did I miss? Thank you.

Regards,

Robert
