Here is the official site for youtube-dl:

There are three downloads on the front page. You should use youtube-dl.exe
if you're using Windows10.

Put the downloaded program somewhere in your path, except don't put it in
C:\Windows\System32.

You also need to download

https://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6/5/165255E7-1014-4D0A-B094-B6A430
A6BFFC/vcredist_x86.exe

unless you already have it.

After you have both in a directory on your path, use the command line to
navigate to where you want to save the subtitles. Then say:

youtube-dl --write-sub URLOFVIDEO

where URLOFVIDEO is the URL of the video for which you want subtitles.

There may be more than one set of subtitles, in which case you may want to
do either

youtube-dl --list-subs URLOFVIDEO

to get a list of subtitles or

youtube-dl --all-subs URLOFVIDEO

to get all the available subtitles.
