hello. This article is interesting, but mostly because the author must spend an
inordinate amount of time working around the fact that no Windows based screen reader supports
a 2-dimensional terminal window in any sane manner. A much better solution, and I believe this
will now work in wsl2 for Windows, is to install wsl2, configure it so you can generate sound
directly from the wsl window, then install Yasr along with eflite or speech-dispatcher and get
Linux to speak directly to you. Then, you can run a program like screen or tmux in your Linux
window and get the full power of a 2 dimensional terminal with features like: cut and paste,
multiple windows in your Linux environment and the full use of a full screen editor like vim,
which will allow you to write properly formatted code with extra programming features like
finding balanced parenthesis, angle brackets, square brackets and braces. Yes, there is a
learning curve here, but if you take the time to learn how to do this, the efficiency and
flexibility you'll gain in how you do your work will be more than worth it.
