[NFBCS] Problem with Firefox

A few years ago, I noticed this problem. At that time, it was caused by
popup blockers. I changed some security settings, and the problem went away
until last year. I can't remember or find out where or which security
settings I might change to make the problem go away. I am using Windows 11
with JAWS and NVDA. I used to see a dialog box where I could press tab and
grant permission to the browser to access the site.

Thanks,

Dan

Hello Curtis and everyone,

Firefox is working fine here under Windows 10.

Hello Tracy:

I had a similar problem with Firefox-a browser which I use
intermittently-but it seems to have disappeared today (at least for me). I
am using Windows 11 with the latest update to JAWS 2024. One thing to try is
to recycle JAWS to see if anything changes. A question I would have is
whether you are noticing a pattern. Are there websites where this problem
happens all the time? I just tried NPR and NFB today, and neither site
exhibited the problem you reported.

Best wishes,

Curtis Chong

Subject: [NFBCS] Problem with Firefox

I've been using Firefox for years and it's been fine, but in the last few
days an odd thing has occasionally happened. Sometimes a website opens and
I can't move using the cursor keys, only the tab. This makes it very hard
to tell what's happening or read the info I'm looking for. If I try reading
a line with insert-up-arrow, it just says blank. Same if I try reading with
the Jaws cursor. If I restart my PC, it usually fixes the problem, but it
comes back next day or some time.

I can use Chrome instead, but Firefox is the default on my machine, so it's
where email links automatically go.

I'm using Windows10 and the latest Jaws.

Any ideas how to fix this problem, besides ditching Firefox?

Thanks.

Tracy
