[NFBCS] FW: [NJTechDiv] multi factor authentication

Hi Steve:
You are absolutely correct. The problem that Mario is facing is that the choice to use OAUTH2 does not show up when attempting to configure the SMTP settings in Thunderbird.
Moreover, all of the articles he and I have both read online provide information which is not working for him. As a last resort, I did urge him to contact the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk (DAD) for help on the theory that even if he is not using a Microsoft client to send/receive email, he is using Hotmail, which is connected to outlook.com, a Microsoft system. The problem is getting OAUTH2 for the SMTP connection.
Kindest regards,
Curtis Chong

Curtis,
I think you are right that Google removed the less secure setting, but it is likely that OAUTH2 is being implemented on HotMail similar to how it has been implemented on Gmail for over a year..
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson

Hi Nancy:
I believe Google has removed that setting. This is more of a Microsoft issue since we are talking about a Hotmail account here.
Cordially,
Curtis Chong

gongle also has a setting called "allow less secure apps". You may need to check for something like that. The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk may be able to help.
