[NFBCS] School teacher needing help connecting Brailliant with NVDA

I was able to connect NVDA to a BI 20X display over a USB connection. USB is what I would recommend to avoid those inevitable complications which often plague Bluetooth connections.

Kind regards,

Curtis Chong

Subject: [NFBCS] School teacher needing help connecting Brailliant with NVDA

Hello:

I am passing this on on behalf of a teacher at Lincoln Public Schools who wants to get his Brailliant working with NVDA. Students are also using this configuration without success. I will pass on any help you can offer or you can contact Zack directly.

Thank you.

We are currently having an issue with using NVDA with a Brailliant BI 40X braille display. The device will connect over Bluetooth and USB to the Windows computer and will work with JAWS, but it will not display when NVDA is the screen reader. The devices we tested are Dell Windows computers of various models, managed by LPS. We have tested on an unmanaged device with better luck. Still, I don't know which of our internal settings or applications might be interfering with the interaction between NVDA and the display. This is uncharted waters for me, and I'd be happy to share any and all troubleshooting steps we have tried. Any help or suggestions would be welcome and appreciated. I have attached Brandon, the user of the device, as he has helped me to understand the software and hardware involved, and is the user in need of a fix, as well as advocating for anyone else who needs assistance with this.

Thank you so much.
