I'd also be interested in Winamp alternatives. I'm glad to see they brought
it back, but this is just one more example of how it feels as though the
developers are letting it languish.

Subject: [NFBCS] winamp issue with jaws 2026
Hi everyone,
I am looking for some advice with an old but still useful program, Winamp,
on Windows 11.
I am totally blind and use JAWS. I have been trying to install Winamp 5.91
and 5.92 from the official Winamp source, but Windows 11 is blocking the
installer.
The message I receive is:
"Windows blocked the app. Contact your system administrator."
I have tried:
list of 5 items
.
running as administrator
.
checking the file properties/unblock option
.
trying different Winamp versions
.
checking the installer signature
.
Windows repairs (SFC and DISM)
list end
I do not want to reinstall Windows, as the computer itself is working fine.
Has anyone here successfully installed Winamp 5.91 or 5.92 on Windows 11
recently, especially with JAWS or another screen reader? If so, what method
did
you use?
I am also interested in knowing if there are safer alternatives or
accessibility-friendly solutions that other blind users are using.
Thanks for any advice.
