La Página Cibernética de Aprendisaje, de los Estados Unidos Es Inaccesible,
y Discrimina Contra los Ciegos

Baltimore, Maryland (27 de octubre del 2009): La Federación Nacional de
Ciegos,

(NFB), la más Antigua y más grande organización de gente ciega a escala
nacional,

principal en la abogacía para la igualdad de acceso, por los ciegos, a la
tecnología de la información,

y Carlos Mora, un residente ciego de Baltimore, Maryland, entabló una

queja administrativa hoy con el Departamento de Educación de los Estados

Unidos. La queja afirma que la página Cibernética de aprendisaje del
Departamento de Educación

de los Estados Unidos de América, viola la sección 508

del Acto de la Rehabilitación ya que es inaccesible a la gente ciega

que utiliza tecnología

el acceso

de la información en el Internet. Debido a la inaccesibilidad de la página
Cibernética de aprendisaje de

los Estados Unidos de América, la gente ciega no puede tener acceso, o

del contenido del vocabulario, del deletreo, y de las lecciones de la
pronunciación en Inglés, que son

ofrecidas a través del sitio.

El Doctor Marc Maurer, Presidente de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos,

dijo: "En una época donde el Internet es una parte de la vida cotidiana, la
gente ciega

debe tener igualdad de acceso a la información, y a los recursos
proporcionados en

la Red Mundial. Particularmente, el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos tiene una
obligación

legal y moral de asegurarse de que la información que proporciona en el

sobre otras páginas Cibernéticas inaccesibles del gobierno federal a medida
que la organización continúa
